Being regular followers of sundry GOP professional panderers and navel gazers, the Chimps have seen stupid. We’ve seen it, we know it, and we can recognize it in the dark with our eyes closed. This, loyal Chimp fans, is STUPID. And of course, it oozed from the fever-swamp mind of none other than Rep. Steve King (R-IA), a man who, along with Rep. Louis Gohmert (R-TX), regularly competes for the title ‘Stupidest Person in Congress.’ Given the Republican caucus of the last, say, 20 years, you can imagine how deep that field is. If you doubt us, fire up the Google machine and do a search for ‘stupid things steve king from iowa has said,’ and behold the wonder of stupidity that awaits.

Anyway, back to the stupid. Here’s the relevant language from King’s press release:

Today, I introduced my full 100% repeal of ObamaCare ‘as if such Act had not been enacted,’ said King. “Obamacare should be ripped out by the roots and thus, I have introduced this legislation in conjunction with my repeal bill in an effort to look ahead and bar the Supreme Court from citing Obamacare in forthcoming decisions as binding precedent.

It was my first order of business on the morning after ObamaCare passed into law, March 24, 2010, to draft and introduce my full, 100% repeal of ObamaCare. By prohibiting the Supreme Court from citing ObamaCare cases, we will be truly eradicating this unconstitutional policy from all three branches of government so that the repeal will be complete. Furthermore, we must work to restore Article I authority and the Rule of Law by ensuring Congress is the only entity of our government making or changing laws.

Just how stupid is this, you ask? On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being ‘Not Stupid,’ 5 being ‘Average Stupid for a GOP Politician,’ and 10 being ‘This Person is Legally Brain Dead – Begin the Autopsy,’ this is a 19. You know when you see something so stupid that it’s shocking, and you stand there with your mouth open while your brain tries to comprehend the stupidity? This is several orders of magnitude beyond that. When reached for comment, zombie Justice Scalia replied, “Jesus Haploid Christ on a pogo stick, this guy is a stupid fuck.” This is so dangerously stupid that Steve King should be required to display on his forehead at all times while in public an OSHA-approved warning label that broadcasts his stupidity in bright-red, all caps.

As a matter of constitutional law, this is so stupid that the House should immediately call a roll call vote on the question ‘Is Rep. Steve King (R-IA) so mind-numbingly, batshit-crazy, stare-in-disbelief stupid that he lacks the cognitive capacity expected even of a GOP representative, and thus should be immediately expelled from the House of Representatives?’ If Republicans controlling the House had even a nanoparticle of self-respect, or respect for the institution, or concern for the well-being of the Iowans Steve King represents, or dedication to the welfare of the nation, they would make this happen. Right now.

Which means, of course, that we can expect nothing out of the House GOP.

For going above and beyond the call of GOP stupidity, Rep. Steve King (R-IA) is hereby awarded one Laughing Chimps salute.
